Painters Required for Rewarding Job

Brethren, you will be aware we made a significant donation to Brecon War Memorial Hospital in the name of “Brecon Freemasons “ as part of the Tercentenary celebrations.
A garden is being upgraded within the Hospital Grounds to aid patients well being and recovery.
The Friends of the Hospital have asked if we could help with sanding/painting garden furniture & planters. It is hoped to begin on Tuesday 2nd July and or Thursday 4th.
I am appealing for help with this so we can provide a Masonic working party to get the job done.
This will be a good advertisement for Freemasonary within the locality “doing as well as giving” if you are able to help please contact Richard Ackroyd 07855 533007.
Dates/times to meet etc. will be promulgated in due course .....watch this space.
Thank you in anticipation.
Yours fraternally
W.Bro Graham Richards Charity Steward 651

BRECON FREEMASONS WELCOME LLANGASTY WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

On Wednesday 13th June, the Brecon Freemasons played hosts to members of Llangasty Women’s Institute. The ladies received a very informative presentation from V.W. Bro Dr Paul Calderwood on the origins of Freemasonry that then progressed through to Freemasonry’s role in present day Society. The ladies were then invited into the Lodge Temple where they were able to see the Lodge layout and the Lodge Honours Boards that itemise the Worshipful Masters of the various Lodges.

The structure and offices in a Lodge were explained to the Ladies and opportunity was taken by the ladies to sit in the seats that would equate to their status within the WI. As can be seen, the President of Llangasty WI, Mrs Ann Bevan appeared very comfortable in the Worshipful Masters Chair! The ladies enjoyed
a very relaxed atmosphere and were able to ask questions and discuss perceptions etc with their hosts. All the ladies were given a copy of Y Dalaith, the freemasons quarterly magazine for the Province of South Wales. This was indeed an historic day for both Brecon Freemasons and members of the
Women’s Institute and when the update to the Brecknock history is written it will surely include this memorable evening.

Masonic Charitable Foundation - A new charity for Freemasons, for families, for everyone.

The Pro Grand Master, Peter Lowndes has announced that a new charity called the Masonic Charitable Foundation is to be established, bringing together the charitable activities of the four existing central Masonic Charities.
At Quarterly Communication of Grand Lodge on Wednesday, 9 September 2015, the Pro Grand Master said:

The Masonic Charitable Foundation will continue to offer the same support and services to those Freemasons and family members who need help, as well as support for the non-Masonic charitable causes that the Craft wishes to assist.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation will be one of the largest charities in the country and will rely on the generosity of Freemasonry for its funds.
It is anticipated that the Masonic Charitable Foundation will be registered with the Charity Commission as soon as possible and that it will begin making grants from 1 April 2016.  The proposals remain subject to the approval of some existing Charity members.
A shadow board of trustees comprising individuals from the existing Charities is overseeing the creation of the new charity and the transition into a single organisation.

Further information about the Masonic Charitable Foundation will be made available over the next few months.

Please visit mcf.org.uk for more information.
